Expressing Differences.

If you think things are not so clearcut, you can use the noun stereotype. Notice that the second speaker in the dialogue uses the expression on the other hand to make a contrasting statement.
       
A: Wow, your room is a disaster. Are all men so sloppy? 
B: No, that's just a stereotype. I mean, I admit I'm sloppy; but, on the other hand, I know plenty of guys who keep things clean.
